The Outlook Fund
How to Donate
A LONG TERM APPROACH
The Outlook Fund has adopted a long term approach to fund raising. All money raised will be applied to a permanent interest-earning endowment fund, administered by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation. The CCF is a registered charity which works with companies, individuals, national and local government, to make grants to local voluntary and community groups.
The Outlook Fund will be administered under standard CCF arrangements. These provide for 5% of the endowment to be applied to projects each year, with an additional 1% being deducted annually from the fund to cover CCF administrative costs.
The CCF is a
registered charity, No. 1103314. Please

FUND RAISING TARGETS
The long term aspiration of the Outlook Fund is to raise an endowment of £1 million, which would produce in perpetuity £50,000 a year for activities and projects (equivalent to about £125 per Looked After Child per year).
The immediate target is to raise an endowment of £600,000. Of this £504,738 has
already been raised (at 6.2.11). The plan is to raise the balance as private benefactions from individuals, companies, and
institutions in amounts of between £500 and £50,000. For the latest
information on fund raising progress, please click the Progress Reports button

MAKING EVERY POUND COUNT
The Outlook Fund will make every pound count by:
- Keeping administrative costs to a minimum. By working through the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation as the custodian of the fund and Cambridgeshire County Council as the organiser of the activities, the costs of setting up and operating a free-standing charity are avoided. Apart from the 1% annual deduction from the fund to meet CCF administrative expenses, all income from donations will go to actual projects and activities.
- Energetically
exploiting opportunities for matching funding. Donations to the
Outlook Fund will be matched pound for pound by the Government's Grassroots
Grants Endowment Challenge, which operates until 2011 and is administered in
Cambridgeshire by the CCF. Matching funding will also be sought from
Cambridgeshire County Council.
In addition to this matching funding, donations to the Outlook Fund will be
eligible for Gift Aid tax relief, meaning that for each £1 donated 28p is
contributed by the Government by way of income tax refund.
